10 Step Full Home Renovation and New Home Build Process
Step Step 1: Meeting with Chabot Interiors and Builder/Contractor
· Discuss project details
· Review value provided by Chabot Interiors
· If acceptable, client will complete the Interior Design Checklist
Step 2: Completion of Flat Fee Proposal
· Terri will email the Flat Fee Proposal (quote) for interior design within 1 week of receipt of Interior Design Checklist
Step 3: Signing of Interior Design Agreement, Receipt of First Installment, Client Homework
· Client to sign Interior Design Agreement and send cheque for first installment
· Client homework assigned: Client Questionnaire and Houzz Ideabook collaboration
Step 4: Design Style Meeting and Inventory of Transferables
· Review homework and Houzz Ideabooks
· Determine design style
· Inventory, measure, photograph and colour/stain match all items moving into new space
Step 5: Development of Furniture and/or Lighting/Electrical Plans
Step 6: Product/Finish Selection
· Prepare Sourcing Lists according to builder/contractor's timeline
· Set up meeting times with clients
· Set up appointments with suppliers. Email the sourcing list and the budget to the supplier.
· Bring all items needed to choose product/finishes wisely: Images, measurements and colour of client’s transferables, samples and/or images of all items chosen to date, floor plans.
· Communicate with your builder/contractor and trades. Review orders.
Step 7: Ongoing Design Implementation and Site Visits
Step 8: Handling Deficiencies
Step 9: Completion and Presentation of Client Binder, Photographs
Step 10: Enjoy your new home!
